Beth Trepagnier sounds like Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac, but a lot heavier, after a day of four packets of cigarettes have been smoked and at least a bottle of Jack Daniels has been beaten back. The kind of voice I have with the greatest pleasure to listen. "My Heart believes in Love," a funky soul number in the later Stax tradition. This is raw, honest, direct and plain. And indeed, sometimes in a slightly different key than the rest of the band, so what! An icon like Neil Young has built an entire career in this fashion… “Louisiana Lover” Beth Trepagnier, a great picture has delivered.
